Dr. Daniel Andreae, Honorary Chair
MSW, R S W, S.A.G.Dip. Ed.D, D.Sc. LLD (Honouris Causa), O.M.C.
He is an award-winning and distinguished professor at both the University of Guelph Humber and the University of Waterloo. Born in Toronto, Dr. Andreae holds a PhD in Adult Education and another in Science (specializing in neurosciences). He also holds an advanced diploma in stress management and a post graduate certificate in neuropsychophysiology. He has a passion for education and a dedication to lifelong learning
Among many honours and awards, Dr. Andreae received the prestigious Distinguished Teaching Award from the University of Waterloo and is a two-time recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award from the University of Guelph Humber.
Dr. Andreae’s community involvement includes being the first executive director of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto and chair of the Patrons Council of the Society. He was the longest-serving president of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and leader of a successful 10 year campaign to secure statutory legislation recognizing social work as a profession. His dynamic leadership through three governments and seven ministers resulted in the regulation of this profession.

Karin Jasper, Ph.D
Karin Jasper, Ph.D., is currently Team Leader for the Day Program for Eating Disorders at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and worked for six years in the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Toronto. Karin is co-author with Ahmed Boachie of A Parent’s Guide to Defeating Eating Disorders: Spotting the Stealth Bomber and Other Symbolic Approaches and co-editor with Catrina Brown of Consuming Passions: Feminist Approaches to Weight Preoccupation and Eating Disorders. She has published numerous articles about eating disorders in both community-based and peer-reviewed publications.
Ali Leung
Group Director, Global Marketing Solutions, Facebook
As Group Director of Facebook’s Global Marketing Solutions, Ali sets the direction for how CPG marketers can best leverage Facebook’s apps and services in a mobile-first environment. In this role, Ali is responsible for partnering with clients and agencies to deliver innovative and effective marketing solutions that drive business results.
Prior to joining Facebook in April 2015, Ali worked at Unilever where as Senior Marketing Director, she developed marketing and category strategies, new product innovation, communication, and delivered growth on many personal care and foods brands including Hellmann’s, Becel, Dove and Axe. During her time at Unilever, Ali also spent two years on the Customer Development team, building the personal care business with Walmart. Before joining Unilever, Ali worked at Loblaw Companies, as a Category Manager on Personal Care.
Ali prides herself on her ability to integrate her thorough understanding of CPG business challenges with the opportunities in a mobile-first marketing environment. Ali is based in Facebook’s Toronto office. She holds degrees from the Ivey School of Business at Western, and Schulich School of Business at York. Ali is a very proud wife and mother of two.
Dale Morris
President, Ascribe Marketing Communications Inc.
Dale Morris is president and owner of Ascribe Marketing Communications, a writing agency that develops marketing communications content across all platforms for clients in a range of sectors within Canada and in the U.S. and Europe. She has written extensively for clients in the health and not-for-profit sectors and for several years provided pro bono services to the National Eating Disorder Information Centre before joining the NEDIC Advisory Committee. She also sits on the Board of Directors of Hopewell, Ottawa's eating disorder support centre.
Dale is a graduate of Carleton University's Journalism School, with combined honours in Political Science. She was named to the PROFIT/Chatelaine W100 Ranking of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs in 2015 and 2013, and is a finalist for Ottawa's 2016 Businesswoman of the Year Award in the Entrepreneur category. A proud mother of two daughters and a son, Dale is a strong advocate for the promotion of positive body image and self esteem among children and youth.
Kathryn Trottier, Ph.D., C.Psych.
Kathryn Trottier, Ph.D., C.Psych. is a Staff Psychologist in the Eating Disorder Program at University Health Network, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Trottier has been working as both a researcher and clinician in the field of eating disorders for over 14 years. The focus of her clinical work is on the provision of empirically-based treatment strategies for individuals with eating disorders. Dr. Trottier has published research papers on the cognitive psychopathology of eating disorders, namely overvaluing weight and shape in determining one’s self-worth. This work has included a randomized controlled trial examining the effectiveness of a body image exposure intervention as an adjunct to standard eating disorder treatment. Most recently she has been working on developing and testing an empirically-based treatment for individuals with co-occurring eating disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder. Her research is supported by the Ontario Mental Health Foundation. Dr. Trottier is a member of the Eating Disorders Research Society and Eating Disorders Association of Canada.
